This Brett Favre Thing is Ridiculous
Here is a message to the Minnesota Vikings. I’m sure they’ll be all over this.
Signing Brett Favre is going to accomplish only one thing: A waste of a season. And I’m going to tell them why.
For one, the guy is not healthy. His arm is going to last 6 games at the most. And during those six games, it will give up about 18 interceptions which will likely ruin your season early. And that is the best case scenario. He will bring nothing to your team as far as leadership is concerned, he is only interested in one thing, and that is Brett Favre.
I think the NFL needs to face facts here. If you want to take a risk on a QB, sign Michael Vick. At least he has upside. He’s still young, and likely in pretty good shape after spending a year in jail lifting weights. And he can’t afford to be a me first player. He will likely go out of his way to be a team leader, because he knows he already blew his shot at being a megastar. He will do anything he can to be embraced by a team, use this to your advantage.
Michael Vick may have had a rocky start to his career, but it’s better to take a chance on a guy who has nowhere to go but up, as opposed to a guy who has nowhere to go but a Geritol commercial.
